Andy Flower to coach St. Lucia Zouks in CPL 2020

Former Zimbabwe captain Andy Flower has been named as the new coach for St. Lucia Zouks for the 2020 season of the Caribbean Premier League. The 52-year-old will take over from former England batsman James Foster , who coached the Zouks in 2019.

"I am excited to lead and coach this team," Flower said in a press release. "I am a fan of the Caribbean Premier League and would love to be the coach to be associated with the team to bring victory home to the fans in St. Lucia."

Satish Menon, the CEO of Kings XI Punjab who are also the owners of the St. Lucia Zouks, said: "I am delighted to have someone of the caliber and eminence of Andy Flower; we sure look forward to a great season ahead.”

Post his retirement, Andy Flower coached the England men’s team from 2009 to 2014, helping them to the T20 World Cup title in 2010. Following that, Flower continued his association with English cricket, working as the technical director for elite cricket for the ECB.

In the franchise cricket world, Flower was the coach of Maratha Arabians in the inaugural edition of the T10 League in Abu Dhabi, and led them to the title. He also coached the Multan Sultans, who were top of the Pakistan Super League in 2020 before the tournament was called off.

As a player, Andy Flower played 213 ODIs and 63 Test matches for Zimbabwe in a career that spanned more than a decade, scoring 16 centuries across all formats as well as a double century against India.
