David Wiese added to Saint Lucia Kings roster for rest of CPL 2021

The Saint Lucia Kings squad will see a new addition for the remainder of the 2021 HERO Caribbean Premier League, as they welcome South African all-rounder David Weise into their team. Weise is set to replace Pakistan’s Usman Qadir for the remaining few games of the 2021 CPL, who had to pull out of the competition.

Weise is expected to join the rest of the squad at the earliest and is expected to be available for selection for the final few games of the season.

Experienced campaigner

Over the years, David Weise has built a reputation for himself of being a fierce striker of the ball. The 36-year-old has played in franchise tournaments all over the world, and has played several memorable cameos lower down the order. Weise has formerly represented Sussex, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars.

Weise has also played International cricket in the past, playing 6 ODIs and 20 T20 Internationals for South Africa, and was also part of the South African squad in the 2016 T20I World Cup.

The all-rounder has also played in the Caribbean Premier League in the past, representing the Guyana Amazon Warriors in 2015 and the Barbados Tridents in 2016. He picked up wickets in the 2015 CPL season, which included a five-wicket haul in one of the group games.

With a wealth of experience under his kitty, David Weise is sure to be a welcome addition to the Saint Lucia Kings going forward in the 2021 HERO Caribbean Premier League.
