Daren Sammy and co. would now be gunning for a third straight win in the 2020 Hero Caribbean Premier League, when they take on the Guyana Amazon Warriors on September 2, knowing fully that a win will all but surely guarantee them of a place in the semi-finals. St.Lucia Zouks are currently in second place with 10 points, and another win will assure them of a top four finish.
However, the Guyana Amazon Warriors would be a formidable opponent for the Zouks, coming off a win themselves. The Warriors are currently third on the table and would be looking to close the gap towards the top with a win, and given their experienced batting line-up and abundance of spinners, could pose a real challenge for St.Lucia Zouks.

Chris Green’s team have the better head-to-head record but it was the St.Lucia Zouks who emerged victorious last time around in a thrilling game that went down to the wire. Both teams are coming off the back of wins and would look to consolidate their form and position towards the top of the table.
The Zouks have never managed to win two games in the same season against the Guyana Amazon Warriors so far in previous editions of the CPL, and Tuesday evening’s clash provides a great opportunity for them to rewrite the history books.
Watch out for
Mohammad Nabi has been the golden arm for Daren Sammy’s side so far in the competition, picking 10 wickets so far. He has managed to do so while maintaining an economy rate of exactly six an over, despite bowling a bulk of those in the powerplay. Similar has been the contribution from Nabi with the bat, with his trademark late cameos coming to the team’s rescue on more than one occasion.

Javelle Glenn became an overnight sensation for the Zouks, after he managed to deliver three economical overs and pick two wickets against the Barbados Tridents, helping his side defend the lowest ever total in CPL history. That inspired performance last time around is sure to instill confidence in him, and going forward Zouks fans can expect him to have a bigger impact in their matches, with both bat and ball.
Opponent Corner
With a catalogue of explosive hitters like Brandon King, Shimron Hetmyer, Ross Taylor and Nicholas Pooran in their roster, it is their batting that makes the Guyana Amazon Warriors a team to be feared. The latter in particular would be someone the Zouks management would keep a keen eye on after his spectacular century in the last game.
On the bowling front, the Warriors have a good spin attack of Chris Green, Imran Tahir and Ashmead Nedd who have been thrifty on surfaces conducive to turn. The spinners therefore need to be played out cautiously by the Zouks top-order to avoid a collapse like the last game.
